Annual Fund Boosters (AFB)
What is AFB?
Annual Fund Boosters (AFB) is an organization designed for the sole purpose of raising money for the Sierra Madre Elementary School, a California Gold Ribbon School. AFB funds are used to supplement district funds and provide enrichment. For the 2021-2022 school year, AFB funds paid for at least the following positions (in full or in part): Music Teacher, Library Coordinator, Visual and Performing Arts Specialists, Eagle Time Specialists for PE, Coding, STEAM and Foreign Language, Behavior and Recreation Aides, Community Assistant, and Intervention Specialist.
The fundraising goal for the 2022-23 school year is at least $220,000 in net proceeds. Please support the award-winning programs at Sierra Madre Elementary and make a donation through Pasadena Educational Foundation or by sending checks payable to "PEF-Sierra Madre Elementary" P.O. Box 1403, Sierra Madre, CA 91025. Donations Are Tax Deductible: Funds are raised through PEF which is a 501(c)(3) organization. Tax ID# 23-7149451.
AFB Mission Statement:
AFB proceeds fund vital salaries and programs at Sierra Madre Elementary School, otherwise not covered by district or federal budgets. The funds raised by AFB directly benefit the classroom and students at our schools and support programs in arts, sciences, physical, and special education.
AFB General Meetings:
Parents and staff members are invited to our general meetings held at 8:30 am in the SME Library on the following dates:
- October 21, 2022
- January 13th, 2023
- May 12th, 2023
